2011 Morris American Flag Rugby Tournament - Chester, NJ

The Denville Dawgs had their 1st road trip of the season. They headed East ... 2.5 miles to Mountain Lakes High School where Tri Town Rugby held their first home game.

Morristown Rugby Tournament

Week Two brought the Mine Hill Tigers, the Byram Bruins and the Morristown Colonials to Denville to take on the Denville Dawgs. Although at Pocono Rd Fields in Denville, the event was officially hosted by the Colonials.

An Interview with Denville Dawgs' Tina Miller

KJ Feury of the Denville Dawgs interviews Morris Rugby's Tina Miller. Tina started playing flag rugby at Denville and is now on the Morris Lady Lions U19 side. Denville is one of 11 communities playing Flag rugby in Morris County, New Jersey. Miller has recently been invited to the USA Rugby U20 national camp. We also love the fact that Tina is a ballerina dancing in her fourth year on Pointe.

Morris Rugby Helping Others during the Holidays

Helping others through the holidays has been a Morris Rugby traditional for several years. This year we are teaming with the Chester Fire Department to help a local charity called Birth Haven. The Chester Fire Department has always been a big help with our Youth Festival. Please join me in assisting with their community efforts.

The Morris Youth American Flag Rugby Festival

Blazing sunshine and lush green fields set the stage for the world's largest youth Mini Tag Rugby Festival. Sponsored by the Morris Rugby Corporation, 105 teams and nearly 1000 children gathered on 23 fields to play the game they love, American Flag Rugby.

Ice Cream Social for the Dawgs

The Denville Dawgs celebrated their annual Ice Cream Social at the Pocono Rd Field. Vanilla & Chocolate Ripple was the flavor of choice. Toppings included chocolate syrup and of course whipped cream.

Long Valley Rugby Tournament

The Denville Dawgs traveled to the Long Valley Wolfpack's den and had a great day in the sun. The Dawgs ran fast, passed accurately and kicked long and high. What a day. We are now midway through the season, and seeing the results of practice.

Denville Rugby Tournament

The Pocono Rd fields in Denville never looked better as the summer youth rugby season rolled into Week 2. Nearly 350 ruggers came out on a beautiful day to play the game they loved. The Denville Dawgs hosted Chester, Union and Jersey City.

Denville Dawgs Week 2 - June 26

The Denville Dawgs were very comfortable on their home field. The Dawgs crews worked hard to set up the fields and be ready for their guests. 600 bottles of water, 400 pieces of fruit, 450 bagels and 200 + ice pops flew out of the tent.

Montville's Community Park was a awesome setting for the 1st games of the season. Yes, with only 2 practices under our belts, we looked a "little green", but caught on quickly. We were able to run, pass and kick well.

10th Annual Morris Youth American Flag Rugby Festival

At 3:00pm on July 25th you would never know that 140 games of American Flag Rugby had been played. The lush green fields were now empty, waiting for the next event to take place.
